It can be overwhelming when first looking at any workout or training plan. To make things easy, here is a list of common abbreviations, lingo and definitions to help answer any questions and clear any confusion that might pop up while navigating your fitness and health journey.

Definitions
Repetitions/Reps - One performance of a given exercise (eg., 10 reps)
Sets - A group of exercise repetitions(eg., 3 sets of 10 reps)
Block- The total number of sets completed (eg., 3 sets of 10 reps = 1 block)
Eccentric- The lengthening portion of an exercise. Ex) lowering portion of a squat
Concentric- The shortening portion of an exercise. Ex) standing up from a squat
Isometric- The static hold of an exercise under tension.
How To Read Prescription
Sets x Reps: Ex) 5x10 = 5 sets of 10 repetitions
Ex) Push Press + Push Jerk, 5x(10+10): Ex) 10 push presses + 10 Push Jerks in a single set for 5 total sets.
Tempo: @3301 (eccentric, isometric, concentric and reset)
Ex) 3 seconds down, 3 seconds pause, explode up and 1 second reset *numbers will vary*
